Tails with Taylors

Pet Care & Supply

Fire Update

Sunday morning, January 15th we received the news that there had been a fire at our building. It's taken us some time to even comprehend the level of damage and the trauma of learning it was no accident but also a homicide. While our hearts break for Amy and we hope justice will be served swiftly, the reality that we've lost our places of work is starting to set in now too...

The convenience store, the barber, and the groomer were completely destroyed by fire. Our pet supply store is considered a total loss due to smoke and water damage. The entire strip mall building is totaled.

Next Steps for Tails with Taylors

It's too soon to know what we'll do for another retail storefront, but we'll make sure we continue to get top quality healthy pet food out to our beloved customers.

My friends at K9 to Five Dog Playcare & Spa have generously offered space for me to set up a little kiosk of my best sellers to keep the retail portion of my business going while we figure out what insurance will cover and how and when we can re-open. I hope to have that set up and operational by Friday, January 27th. I am also planning to offer delivery service to my Clark County customers as soon as I can get the logistics hammered out.

We continue to offer "family style" dog boarding in our home. Please see Overnight Care for more information.

GoFundMe Pages

Many people have asked how they can help.

GoFundMe Pages have been set up for several of us heavily affected by the devastating fire. Please, if you are unable to donate, at least share with your friends and family via social media and email. You never know who will be moved to donate and you can only imagine how that will help someone in the next steps of their lives.

Fund for Amy's Daughters (Amy was killed in the fire that destroyed our stores)

Fund for Tails with Taylors set up by my dear friend Alesha who I am proud to call a sister. Any funds collected above our cost for reopening will go to our long-term dream to have a hobby farm that is also a permaculture and sustainabilty teaching farm for at-risk youth.

Fund for Phyllis (hosted by me) Phyllis worked at Best Friends Dog Grooming.

Fund for Best Friends Dog Grooming It was so nice to start my store next to a friendly dog groomer with a five star reputation! I hope they'll be able to reopen soon.

My suite neighbors Best Friends Dog Grooming have a Facebook page you can follow for updates on their reopening. If you do not use Facebook as several people have said, I'll post updates here too so check back. I'll also include updates on Sue and the crew in my newsletter.
